Belted Kingfisher – BEKI

A male Belted Kingfisher touches down at the nest cavity with a crayfish for the read-to-fledge young. The coding in the lower right hand corner of the photo are the identity affixed to the file – BEKI – the four-digit abbreviation for the bird – 2015 – the year in which the photo was taken – GLT – the initials of the photographer, in this case George L. Tickell – and lastly 3240 – the number assigned by the camera for the photo.
