For several days George L. Tickell and I took turns trying to obtain photographs of almost ready-to-fledge young being fed crayfish and trout at the nest entrance located in a cliff face 5-feet above the creek bank. We discovered that the young would regurgitate pellets and bones that would be discarded at he foot of the burrow. It was strange. Every morning when we visited the site the pellets and bones would be gone. We never did learn the identity of the animal that was visiting the nest area every night.
